1776, the Declaration of Independence was drafted for the United States of America. During this time, five university students formed a fraternity called the Bavarian Order of the Illuminati. The period from 1730 to 1780 is considered the height of the Enlightenment era for the Illuminati. Intellectuals like John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, and others would gather to discuss hidden knowledge. Various other groups emerged during this time, united by the common goal of sharing such knowledge.
By the end of the 18th century, these groups had amassed significant knowledge and power. A resurgence of Hermeticism took place, a philosophical and religious system based on the teachings of Hermes Trismegistus. This belief system views God as a magician, contrasting sharply with the doctrines of organized religion. Hermeticism is much closer to the truth than traditional biblical teachings.
